Spain AlmeriaRégion mountainous region, the relief cut, climb and descent are our daily bread. My thighs are the volume.

Manolo: father of a family of paragliders (the two parents and fans are 3enfants), I met this passionate and his band fly to Organya, placed on the landing strip to distribute the watermelon for everyone. He invites me to spend a natural home to Compel (Manilla), in southern Spain. Perched in the mountains, their house is signed by some familiar faces including paragliding Felix Rodriguez and other world champions divers.Mécanicien business, and engineering, we spend several hours to repair the game of my Shimano M324 pedal has mixed in principle can not be repaired thanks to a special tool sold 25 Euros by Shimano and found even among retailers Shimano. They then offer it to me .... to buy a pair of pedals (50E). Good job Shimano. Push consumption and waste, you will not leave the richer! And this is one of the perverse effects of our consumer society: it is more economically viable to produce pedals that produce the tools that make them effective and usable in the long term. Reply by Manolo and me: MADE ON THE TOOL! Shimano Paf in the mouth!

Rock of Gibraltar: the rock is also a British enclave on the Iberian Peninsula. Particular territory, a tax haven, despite its membership in England, it is not part of Europe. We will find this special status in the Canary Islands, they belong to Spain. So there are the cheap oil for boats bound for the Atlantic. Here is a strategic point to the boat stop. But this is not the season and I want to see Morocco. So I continue, come what may!

European last pass: el Puerto del Bujeo, 360m above sea level (always harder end of the stage).
Africa! First moments of the first vision of the continent, directly opposite the Rock of Gibraltar, the two vertical limbs impressive guard the entrance to the whole Mediterranean Sea. Hercules, in one of the twelve labors, would have excluded these two arms of the rocks and forged the Strait.
Conclusion 1: It is hefty Hercules!
Conclusion 2: It has long arms Hercules!

Atlantic: Tarifa, southernmost tip of Europe. (See photo Mediterranean) A specific geographic point or two seas adjacent to each other. Get there after crossing the Mediterranean for a month, a sudden cold takes me. The sea air is cold! Indeed currents from the north of Portugal, and brings all the sweet freshness of the pole ... He is as good as Britain, rainy day. Finished the mild Gulf Stream ...

Assilah, North Maroc2 women. Punks, hippies and the rebels of society to believe their beautiful hair unveiled!

Between Tangier and Asilah
Meeting Bobke, cycling Morocco. We will walk together for 3 days
memorable in many ways. It aligns "120 kms per day". Even when my meter (a
Sigma 906 anyway!) Definitely shows 42 kms ...

Bivouac, forest south of LaracheBobker and knife "in case an enemy shows up." Air saw my little reassured: "You friend, you no problem, reassurance, sleeping". The worst is that 'it happens to fall asleep ...

Douar Riah Baria, in Mohammed (no2)
Mohammed, a farm worker, traveling by bike. Not a word of French in his vocabulary. We
"Talking" 10 minutes and he invites me to follow him to show me open a store in her village.
Sandy streets, small shop surrounded by 20 to 30 people around. Some shopping, I'm about to
go, people ask me what I intend to do with my small can of tomato paste and my 2
bananas. "A meal!" I said happily to this beautiful idea to eat. Regards vexed
of the meeting, stare at my skinny figure ... "Home" I heard. I am neither one nor two
I'm off by Mohammed who let me go when I'm sitting on the beautiful carpet of
single room in the house with light and a large double bed: bedroom with its own
woman. Ftour, tajine, family night and sleep. They sleep at 8 in the adjoining room.

Douar Riah Baria, in Mohammed (No. 2) Scene of domestic life. The bathrooms have a different decor from Ikea. But no less functional trust me! (Note: I hate IKEA) Question: What think the baby that we see on the back of his mother?
05 Sep 2008
Moulay-Bousselham in front of the store Mohammed (No. 1).
In full flight from Bobke become sticky and unbearable (and loud too slow),
I ask the manager of this store agricultural products where I can buy food. 1/2h after
I asked at his table with a feast in front of me ... open at the stroke of Ramadan
noon. It must be here the famous Moroccan hospitality ...
05 Sep 2008
Nador, Larache region, on the road.
Bobke, true to himself, walking as it is tired. Sure, a trip by bicycle in the open
Ramadan, a Muslim, it is not easy ... Especially when you smoke like a chimney!
Conclusion: a Muslim during the day rather smoke than eat in Ramadan. And after that we
dare trivialize the drug, known as "soft".
05 Sep 2008
Deroua, camping on a farm south of Casablanca
September 2, coincided almost to the day I arrived in Morocco and the start of Ramadan will last
a month. Almost every night, having eaten before or not, I found myself with a plate of
Ftour ("fast breaking") before me, consisting of a bowl of soup high in calories, a little
round bread that is dipped in some honey cakes that I like a lot (super
boost in the day, at the bottom left of the plate) and a glass of tea.
Here I ask a place in a field a few farmers, which brings me to this plateau
sunset. Moroccans have the art of hospitality. It's almost an inability to conceive
they can leave someone without eating.
08 Sep 2008
Casablanca neighborhood sudL'enfer. Casablanca, the most populous city of Morocco pours a staggering amount of waste in the landfill open as I go along for 20 minutes. Waste burn and smoke slowly, pushed by the sea breeze pollutes the surrounding countryside (I would like to see a day with offshore winds: all hop in the city, return to sender!). Haggard Silhouettes gesticulate over in search of some food items or neglected by the wealthy.
08 Sep 2008
Imefout on the road, southern region of Settat
The desert edge without any transition. So. Before it's green, then after it's red. I
overcome the rif, this agricultural region in the north, known for its plantations of cannabis.
09 Sep 2008
Settat, soukQuand traveling in Morocco, or any other Arab country, we always take a picture of a souk.N 'prevents these souks saves me in the stomach that it is the only one open in the day during this period of Ramadan. bouffistaille real oasis.
